A new kind of building
Built for amazing
Enhance your inherent capabilities and restore your connection to nature and people
The Halo
Full sensory optionality. Be immersively in the outdoors, not just looking at it through glass.
Serendipitous social opportunity: A walk-up outer corner bar, aligned (eye to eye) with your indoor corner table.
Super-sized solar runs the heating and cooling with the windows wide open.
Fully open or completely sealed. (And every degree in between.) The choice is always yours.
“After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, love, and so on — have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear — what remains? Nature remains; to bring out from their torpid recesses, the affinities of a man or woman with the open air, the trees, fields, the changes of seasons — the sun by day and the stars of heaven by night.”
― Walt Whitman
This is how it helps you get connected while remaining protected:
Connected to
people
Face-to-face, eye to eye
Dignified approach
Supports a conversation up to 8 without a post in the way
The inner table and outer bar create one continuous surface where occupant and approacher meet as equals — face to face at the same height.
Connected to
place
Full nature immersion
Solar powered HVAC affords open-windowed comfort across more seasons & conditions
A new default: windows open to life outside. At 15 to 30 times the solar Watts/SF of typical solar buildings, the Halo runs mechanical heating and cooling even with the corner flung wide open.
The halo is inspired by how humans are designed to move between focus and connection, solace and social and back again.

The ancient Problem:
Buildings original brief was survival through separation, but now we’re over-isolated.
They compress the sensory field the body was designed for.
They reduce the conditions for natural, unplanned human encounter.
Energy costs make openness expensive. So buildings default to sealed.
Buildings create a world that says: “You can’t have it all”.
Now you can
Built For:
The best events activate people's fullest capacity to relate.
Where your clientele co-author the experiences your property promises.
It’s a top-talent magnet. Some use it on the weekend just for fun.
A cozy sanctuary for full immersion in your garden or music.

FAQs

The Halo is made to reawaken your inherent capabilities.
A backyard shed with solar is like being in any other small room. The Halo gives you the option to feel like you are actually within the garden, rather than inside a small room looking out a window at one.
It also optionally merges you with people. A walk-up outer corner bar, aligned (eye to eye) with your indoor corner table, is the shortest path from stranger to partner.
The solar is super-sized to change everything: Live with the windows open without ever worrying about heating or cooling considerations.

Orders are built in our factory and take 6 months to deliver. For event or short term rentals, they can be operable an hour after getting dropped off by a pickup truck. If it’s an officially permitted temporary install, assume a day or two for temporary foundations and tie-downs. Basic Solar package of 6 panels can be preinstalled, larger 12 panel systems take half a day to set up onsite.
-
Doubling up our permanent ones is baked into it’s design DNA. Take two 10×16’s and get a 20×16 space for larger group meetings, yoga or activity rooms.
-
Our trailer version is about 8 ½ feet wide by 14 ½ feet long. The fixed versions are a bit bigger, 10 feet wide by 16 feet long.

The base model seats 4 inside and 4 outside at the bar. It comes with a solar powered heated and air conditioned space with a fresh air monitoring system. The base package includes 6 solar panels, a battery large enough to run the heating and cooling for a full day without sun, minifridge, dim-to-warm lighting, electrical outlets, a TV monitor that rises from the table for video conferencing, and a great sound system. Door comes with digital smart lock with keypad. You supply the WIFI and extenders if needed. Exterior access such as stairs or ramps are not automatically included.
Upgrade options include a larger 12 panel solar system, exterior steps and ramp options, and optional table configurations.

We are building the towable version for pilot programs, events and installs where relocation is needed. A pick up truck tows it to you, and it stays on its own wheels. Jacks and pads are then installed to level and support it and in most cases it can be used the same day.
The Permanent model has no wheels and is delivered on a flatbed truck and uses equipment to maneuver it into its permanent position, typically over some type of prepared foundation like a concrete slab or pier and pad.
-
Yes, our units are fully accessible inside. Additionally, all permitted commercial installs require an accessible path from the parking space to the front door, typically including a ramp. Each site is unique and will require “Path of Travel” documentation. Single family residential installs don’t mandate accessibility. When required, owners can supply their own or we can provide custom ramps fit to match the aesthetics of the Keep that can fit your specific site conditions.
-
Only on permanent commercial installs. Metal pier over concrete pad with anchorage strapping works for temporary commercial installs and qualifies as a “permanent install” for residential.
-
Whether for commercial use or home-office, one can depreciate 100% of the purchase cost in the first year if you order the towable version because it can be considered business equipment. After the first year, put The Halo on a permanent foundation and the majority of the unit’s purchase price can be added to your home’s appraised value and actually appreciate over time along with your home.
-
Yes, We’ll have it engineered for it.
-
No. In most cases, code requirements make commercial roof-top installs infeasible. Check with your architect.
-
The commercial solar ITC at 30% back on qualifying solar installations is currently available but has a limited window. Check with your tax advisor or local utility & state for battery rebates.

The Halo sits within a familiar building investment range. Pricing depends on configuration, site conditions, solar and exterior accessibility packages. Contact us for specifics.
The Halo is made so we can be re-immersed in the natural world we were built to be in.

The Halo is currently in prototype deployment. We’re building towards the first commercially certified version and we’re looking for the right early deployment partners.
This isn’t a different class of investment from any other building.
